Interchange raises more than CZK 80,000 for the ‘People in Need‘ through its public collection boxes at Václav Havel Airport Prague

At the beginning of April, 2017, Interchange installed eight collection boxes at its various different exchange offices in Prague Airport enabling its customers to deposit any spare change that they had which, when the boxes were filled up, would go towards supporting disadvantaged children in the Czech Republic. The first counting of the cash collected was made in July, and the amount raised totalled CZK 42,196. With the boxes again filling up quickly, a second counting was made in September, and an amount of 40,710 CZK was raised.

All of the money collected from the boxes goes towards the ‘People in Need’s public collection known as “a Better School for Everyone” and it is intended to be used for programmes that focus on social integration, especially in the education of children living in the Czech Republic in difficult conditions. Through this programme, People in Need organizes the tutoring and further support for 638 children from poor families, of which a third have already shown improvement in the long run. In addition, 770 children have attended the PINF’s clubs, either to do their homework or just to spend their free time carrying out a meaningful activity.

Interchange is happy to have raised more than 80,000 CZK through its collection boxes, and to have contributed to the successful running of these learning programmes. The whole team hopes that a similar amount of money will be raised in the months leading to the end of the year.
